Old Hokonui Museum & Distillery is a registered charity and independently funded. Your visit helps to pay for our ongoing work, projects and programmes.
Donations are also welcomed.

Old Hokonui Museum & Distillery is centrally located on the corner of Hokonui Drive and Norfolk Street, with the entrance on Norfolk Street. The Gore Visitor Centre is currently front of house for the Museum & Distillery, so also a great place for bookings, information and souvenirs – including Old Hokonui spirits and merchandise.
- A few minutes walk from Gore’s CBD including retail, cafes, bars & restaurants, supermarkets.
- Two minutes walk from Gore’s iconic Brown Trout Statue, and NZ Country Music’s Hands of Fame statue.

- Opposite the Eastern Southland Gallery, home of the internationally significant John Money Wing and Ralph Hotere Gallery, plus two temporary exhibition spaces offering a changing programme of solo, group and touring exhibitions by national and international artists.​

Free WIFI
Gore Visitor Centre, (front of house for the museum), has guest WIFI available. Request password from tour Visitor Centre staff.
Photography
Please feel free to take photographs for personal use in the Museum. We encourage you to share the images from your visit and you are welcome to tag your images to our Facebook page. However due to copyrights of Old Hokonui Museum & Distillery and others please do not take direct photos of artworks or images in our photograph collection. Filming is not permitted. Please talk to a staff member if you are unsure.
Filming or photography for publication, media or commercial use requires prior permission and may incur a charge. Please contact us for details.
Access
Car parking areas available directly outside the Museum & Distillery.
Tour and service coaches stop at the bus stop on Hokonui Drive side of the museum and distillery.
Public toilets available inside museum and distillery building.
We are easily accessed by wheelchair and there is one accessible park directly outside the building. We have a loan wheelchair so those with mobility or fatigue issues can enjoy a leisurely visit.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are most welcome in the Museum.
We welcome visitors of all ages and the Museum is easily accessed with a baby buggy.
